On Sunday, October 22 at 2 PM, the City of Manassas will dedicate a new historic marker to Jennie Dean on the site of the Manassas Industrial School. This marker, generously funded by local resident Bill Olsen, is being placed to honor the vision and hard work of Ms. Dean in establishing the Manassas Industrial School for Colored Youth in 1893. As part of the dedication, we have secured two guest speakers and light refreshments will be served. At this time, we are inviting you to join us for this special occasion. The City values its partnership with you and hopes you will be able to attend that afternoon.
