This is a friendly reminder that you are invited to join the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for a free, special Black History Month event this Saturday, February 8th!
We are hosting a reception at the Manassas Center for the Arts, located at 9419 Battle Street, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., to celebrate the opening of an art exhibit titled, “It’s Complicated: A Visual Examination of the Relationship,” which will feature the works of an emerging Baltimore-based artist, Dr. Yemonja Smalls.
Dr. Smalls’ work in various mediums has been exhibited at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Harlem Fine Arts Show, Howard University, Sojourner Family Peace Center and other venues and collections across the country.
Please see the attached flyer, and come out to meet Dr. Smalls, and enjoy a night of amazing artwork, delicious refreshments, live music and a chance to win a door prize!

We are joining with several organizations and going to LOBBY in Richmond! Sign Up!
From all across Virginia, Democratic Black Caucus of VA ( DBCV) members, NAACP officers and members, pastors, church congregations, many groups and organizations have plans to join our efforts to actively lobby Legislators in the General Assembly on issues that concern us. Plan to be part of our 2020 General Assembly Legislative Lobby Day on 21January. Yes, that is the day after MKL Day! So, put it on your calendar and take the day off! More information to follow soon!
Registration for the 2020 Legislative Lobby Day is open. Registering ensures (1) that you receive the most up to date information and (2) we accurately plan for the day’s activities. The Prince William County Government has prepared a website with important information about the census. Click here to visit that site.
A flyer describing the importance of the census can be accessed by clicking here. As can be seen from the flyer, crucial allocations of funds and representation will be determined by the outcome of this census.
