Website Admin Intern

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President, this incredible role is responsible for ensuring that the premier voice of social justice and advocacy in Prince William County is visible and delivers relevant information to the community via the website. Primary duties include overseeing updates, edits, and making changes to the unit website.

Core Responsibilities:

1.      Making consistent and timely edits and changes to the WordPress website
2.      Attending monthly meetings, including executive committee meetings and taking notes
3.      Recommending enhancements to the site

4.      Working in conjunction with the social media liaison to develop a strategy and ensure consistency

5.      Requesting backlinks on other relevant sites to improve SEO

6.      Performs other duties as assigned.

PR/Marketing Internship

Job Summary

 Reporting to the Vice President, this incredible role
is responsible for creating positive digital visibility for the premier voice
of social justice and advocacy in Prince William County. This role will ensure
that relevant content is delivered in a timely manner, allowing the county and
all key stakeholders to remain aware of the unit’s community engagement.

Core Responsibilities 

1.      Develop positive relations with the local media on behalf of the Unit

2.      Help to develop and deliver a strong public relations campaign

3.      Distribute timely news regarding the unit’s activities to the local media

4.      Consistently update social media with relevant content

5.      Attend various community events on behalf of the unity to take pics and collect content

6.      Attending monthly meetings, including executive committee meetings and taking notes

7.      Work in conjunction with the Web development team to recommend enhancements to the site

8.      Requesting backlinks on other relevant sites to improve SEO

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • MS Office proficiency
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Strong knowledge of social media posting and algorithms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
  • Ability to work independently and in a remote environment
  • Passion for social justice and advocating for marginalized groups

Preferred Experience

  • Enrolled at a college or university with a keen interest in public relations, social media, digital marketing, or social justice
  • Knowledge of developing and implementing public relations campaigns
  • 1-2 years of work experience
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
