“The Prince William-Stafford County National Pan-Hellenic Council (PWSNPHC), in conjunction with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the League of Women Voters, is pleased to invite you to our nonpartisan Candidate Meet and Greet.
The first event will be held at the Chinn Park Library, 13065 Chinn Park Dr., Woodbridge, VA on May 16, 2019, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. This event is focused on the Neabsco, Occoquan, Potomac and Woodbridge Districts.
The second event will be held at the Bull Run Library, 8051 Ashton Ave, Manassas, VA on May 21, 2019, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. This event is focused on the Brentsville, Coles and Gainesville Districts.
The agenda for the Candidate Meet and Greet is for Prince William County Citizens to communicate directly with incumbent officials and those who have declared their candidacy for elected office. This event will focus on the following positions: County Supervisors, Commonwealth’s Attorney, County Sheriff and School Board Members.
I ask that you share the details of this email with the members of your organization along with the Prince William County citizens you interact with on a daily basis. Lastly, I ask that you mark your calendar to spend some time at one or both of the meet and greets events in an effort to better understand the platform of the candidates asking for your vote!

Criminal Justice Forum
The Northern VA Regional Chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. are hosting a Criminal Justice Forum on April 24th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Gum Springs Community Center in Alexandria Virginia. The participating Chapters of their organization include, Fairfax County Alumnae Chapter, Fredericksburg Alumnae Chapter, Loudoun County Alumnae Chapter, Northern Virginia Alumnae Chapter and Prince William County Alumnae Chapter. Courtney Hill, a Political Consultant & Chief Navigator of Polaris Strategies will moderate the panel conversation with candidates running for the Commonwealth Attorney and District Attorney in our region.
Commonwealth Attorney/District Attorney Candidate that have been confirmed include:
- Parisa Dehghani Tafti, Arlington County and the City of Falls Church
- Steve Descano, Fairfax County
- Ray Morrogh, Fairfax County

Questions will center around: Racial disparities in incarceration; school to prison pipeline; prosecutorial discretion; sentencing guidelines; cash bail reform; civilian review boards; mental health and the justice system; implicit bias; death penalty; immigration; police misconduct; drug courts; reentry programs; and the financial disparities in some Commonwealth Attorney’s office budgets.
