The Board of County Supervisors(BOCS) plans to vote on a proclamation that PWC is a “Second Amendment Sanctuary County” in its meeting being held tonight at 7:00 at the McCourt Building. This proclamation addresses the recent efforts of some to forestall any action on gun control legislation and is moving forward as a result of Democrats’ winning in the recent election. Please come out tonight and show your support for this extremely important issue.

The PWNAACP General Membership meetings are held
monthly every 3rd Tuesday from 7:30-9:00 PM at First AME Church (FAME). FAME
has generously hosted the PWNAACP meetings for years. Additionally, FAME hosts
other community meetings that inform and support us all. During the holidays,
FAME provides food to needy families. Please help us support FAME by
contributing.

Virginia Housing Department Authority (VHDA) Regional Business Development office will present a home buyer seminar on October 30, 2019 at Dillingham Square in Woodbridge. The purpose of the seminar is to inform the public about VHDA’s grant and loan assistance programs for home buyers. The NAACP-supported Domestic and International Terrorism DATA Act, H.R. 3106, passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a unanimous vote on September 26, 2019. The legislation has now been sent to the U.S. Senate, which must pass the bill before it can go the President for his signature to become law. This bill would ensure that for centralized, reliable, publically accessible information on terrorism and its roots is available to inform the American people as well as federal, state, and local law enforcement of effective counter-terrorism policy making.
