Second VP Keith Smith informs that First African Methodist Episcopal Church of Manassas (FAME) will host a FREE, open to the public, legal clinic on March 13, 2018, 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The clinic is sponsored by the Northern Virginia Black Attorneys Association and the Virginia State Bar Young Lawyers Conference. FAME wishes to share details of the event with us. The Town of Dumfries 2018 Black History Month Celebration will be held at Little Union Baptist Church, 17150 Mine Road, Dumfries, VA. on Saturday February 24, 11:00am to 1:00pm. The theme of the celebration honors “African Americans in Times of War” like the legendary Tuskegee Airmen, who were highly decorated for their service in World War II. Councilwoman Washington will be the Master of Ceremony over this program.

Thanks to the generous support of UFCW Local 400, the VSC NAACP Youth and College Division is partnering with Area Four NAACP to host the annual New York City Bus Trip to the National NAACP Board of Directors Quarterly meeting.
This trip is an annual event many across Virginia enjoy and are very excited about attending. The bus is scheduled to leave Richmond next Friday night, February 16th for the early morning arrival in NYC – for all of the trip details, see attached flyer.
Plans are in place to stop in Northern Virginia to pick up additional NAACP members and Youth for the trip.

The Creative and Performing Arts Center (CAPAC) in partnership with Colgan High School tell the untold story of four “Courageous” African American women who were reassigned to all-White Schools in PWCS overnight in one of the most successful and non-violent school integrations in the nation.
